Search arXiv papers by query. Supports field-prefixed queries (ti: for title, au: for author, abs: for abstract, cat: for category, all: for all fields). Returns paginated results with total count. One upstream request per call. Retrieve metadata from arXiv papers including submission date, title, authors, abstract, and categories. Supports both direct paper lookup by ID and search queries. Fulfilled by Parse from export.arxiv.org.

Request fields

query (string, required): Search query string. Supports arXiv query syntax with field prefixes: 'ti:' (title), 'au:' (author), 'abs:' (abstract), 'cat:' (category), 'all:' (all fields). Boolean operators AND, OR, ANDNOT are supported.
start (integer): Zero-based offset for pagination.
max_results (integer): Number of results to return per page, between 1 and 100.
