Fetch metadata for a single ScienceDirect article by its PII (Publisher Item Identifier), DOI, or ScienceDirect URL. Returns the article title, authors, publisher, journal name, DOI, abstract text, PDF download URL, volume, pages, year, ISSN, and article URL. One upstream request per call when using PII or URL; two requests when resolving a DOI. Cloudflare protection is solved automatically. At least one of pii, doi, or url must be provided. Retrieve article metadata from ScienceDirect including title, authors, publisher, abstract, and PDF download URL. Fulfilled by Parse from www.sciencedirect.com.

- doi (string): Digital Object Identifier for the article, e.g. 10.1016/j.bioflm.2024.100185. Used to resolve the article when pii is not provided. At least one of pii, doi, or url must be provided.
- pii (string): ScienceDirect Publisher Item Identifier (PII) for the article, e.g. S2590207524000108. Found in the article URL path after /pii/. At least one of pii, doi, or url must be provided.
- url (string): Full ScienceDirect article URL containing the PII, e.g. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2590207524000108. The PII is extracted from the URL path. At least one of pii, doi, or url must be provided.
